We're heading to Jillian's* for Billiard's for Justice on March 10th from 6-8PM! Don't worry if you don't rock the cue stick. Lots of people aren't that great at pool, but some SoJusters have claimed to have the skills. So show up for lessons, laughs, or just good people. We'll have a few tables reserved from 6-8PM for the pool sharks, but plenty of non-billiards hanging out as well. Jillian's has some great appetizers and a full bar which no doubt we'll be taking advantage of... So look no further if you want to cross-promote your events and campaigns while avoiding hitting the 8 ball, are seeking like-minded progressives to play pool with in Boston, or are new to the area and looking for groups to get involved in. If you want to build a strong cross-issue social justice movement, SoJust is for you! RSVP at http://www.sojust.org Newcomers always welcomed! Cost: $12 to cover pool and group expenses. Join us if you want to cross-promote your events and campaigns, are new to the area and looking for groups to get involved in, or you've been looking for like-minded progressives to hang with in Boston. At SoJust events you can hang out with friends, make new ones, find a date, get the scoop on a job, and find out what's going on this weekend - political or social. And the best part is that SoJust members share your vision of building a more just world. No Program. No Speaker. Just us. YES, WE MEAN YOU. We've got members of all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, levels of activism and professions. We hope you see someone like yourself and meet someone you otherwise wouldn't have. HEY ORGANIZERS! If you're involved with a group or project and want to spread the word bring flyers for the free lit table - and there'll be lots of opportunity to schmooze and network! **Sorry, this event is 21+ ** Wheelchair accessible. ** Directions: Take the Green line to Kenmore Square, bear left onto Brookline Avenue, take the second left onto Lansdowne Street, at the end of the street make a left onto Ipswich Street - you will see the entrance on the left hand side. Please join us for a viewing and community conversation of the film BECOMING AMERICANS: Latino immigrants arrive healthy, so why don’t they stay that way? Recent Mexican immigrants, although poorer, tend to be healthier than the average American. They have lower rates of death, heart disease, cancer, and other illnesses, despite being less educated, earning less, and have the stress of adapting to a new country and a new language. But the longer they’re here, the worse their relative health becomes even as their socioeconomic status improves. Within one generation, their health is as poor as other American of similar income status. $5 donation suggested

On a recent tour of Dubai, Russell Peters crashed online outlets as soon as his tickets went on sale, with a selling rate of one ticket every two seconds. In 2005, he became the first South Asian to sell out the Apollo Theatre in New York and in 2008 he became one of a few comedians to headline and sell out Madison Square Garden. Much of Russell’s humor derives from his observations on the subjects of race, class and culture and his ability to impersonate countless languages and accents to create a bond with his audiences, regardless of their racial and cultural backgrounds. With over 20 million YouTube views and 10,000 daily hits to his website, Russell certainly is a new comic sensation. In 2009, he released his most recent DVD, Red, White and Brown. $45.00 - $65.00
